The battery storage project in Kettig, in the Mayen-Koblenz district, has an output of 50 MW and a gross storage capacity of 116 MWh. The battery storage system is used to provide system services (in particular primary control power), as well as to generate revenue from optimization on the spot market and from avoided network charges (§ 18 StromNEV) and is connected to the Westnetz GmbH network. Construction of the plant is planned for 2026.
